Nc’nean was founded with a bold mission: to change the way the world views Scotch whisky. With a focus on sustainability and innovation, their goal was to create a whisky and botanical spirit that could coexist harmoniously with the planet.
In 2017, Nc’nean began distilling its own organic whisky, and by 2020, the first bottle was released - a pioneering organic single malt that makes a significant impact with the smallest possible environmental footprint. B Corp certified, Nc’nean exclusively uses organic Scottish barley and powers their distillery entirely with renewable energy.
Their commitment to sustainability extends to their packaging: every bottle is made from 100% recycled glass. The distillery also diverts 99.97% of its waste from landfill.
In 2021, Nc’nean became the first whisky distillery in the UK to achieve verified net-zero carbon emissions for scopes 1 and 2, reaffirming their dedication to both quality and the planet.
